Membership is open to any Certification Body/Inspection Body/Training Body must have accreditation from the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) based on ISO/IEC 17021 or ISO/IEC 17065 or ISO/IEC 17020 or ISO/IEC 17024 for any of its Certification, Inspection and Training Services. The government agencies working for implementation and certification, Inspection and training of quality will be exempt from this requirement.
BACB MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA FOR LOCAL/FOREIGN CERTIFICATION, INSPECTION AND TRAINING BODY:
(1) The organization (Certification Body/Inspection Body/Training Body) will be a lawful entity registered in Bangladesh i.e. Proprietorship firm, Partnership firm, Company with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms Bangladesh, the public sector (Government or formed by Act. Law, Order) organizations, carrying out certification, inspection and training activities can also apply for membership in BACB.
(2) The CB/IB/TB (Certification Body/Inspection Body/Training Body) must have accreditation from the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) based on ISO/IEC 17021 or ISO/IEC 17065 or ISO/IEC 17020 or ISO/IEC 17024 for any of its Certification, Inspection and Training Services. The government agencies working for implementation and certification, Inspection and training of quality will be exempt from this requirement.
(3) Applicant organization should have accreditation in its own name and location in Bangladesh.
(4) Applicant organization’s show evidence in favor of own of office (rented or own) in Bangladesh.
(5) Updated trade license, VAT, TIN, Accreditation Certificate and financial audit report of the organization from the competent farm, if applicable.
(6) The organization will have minimum infrastructure to carry out the activities in the capacity of a certification, Inspection and training body, which shall include:
- i. An office which is available in the location mentioned in their trade license;
- ii. A quality management system document that the organization follows as per ISO standards/guideline for its execution of affairs;
- iii. Declare a minimum 03 (three) number of Auditors/Inspectors/Trainers either subcontracted or full time employed.
(7) The Certification Body shall have at least 10 certified clients for system/product certification or 50 certified clients for Inspection service or 10 training session under the accreditation scope
Major Chapter of Members in BACB:
Chapter’s under the umbrella of the BACB. They will have their Chapter-committee, and operate under the BACB Executive Committee (EC), BACB Executive Committee will approve the Chapter-committee. Minimum 05 members are required for chapter.
Major Chapters are:
1. Certification Body (ISO/IEC 17021 OR ISO/IEC 17065)
2. Inspection Body (ISO/IEC 17020)
3. Training Body (ISO/IEC 17024)
